I wanted something to tell me the front and back distances on the green. I have a laser finder but a lot of times you need to know what it will take to get on the green or how far over the pin you can go before going over the green. I didn't need all the bells and whistles of the more expensive GPS's. I've used it 3 rounds and it has been very helpful. The software took a little time to install but it seems pretty easy to download courses.

This is a great product. We have needed one for a long time and we are not disappointed one bit. My husband probably told me 10 times during the round we played using the Sonocaddie V100 that he just loved it! We got everything we wanted and more for the price we paid. The fancy colors on rangefinders don't make you play better golf. The distance markers are what you need and the Sonocaddie fills the bill in every way! Would by another one any time. The one time fee is another great feature. Other companies make you pay every year but not Sonocaddie. Can't you tell we just LOVE it!!!

One-time fee sold me. It is so compact that it does not interfere with your swing while on your belt. The first time I used it, I played my best round ever and it gave me a lot of confidence.

Recieved sooner than expected. Installation of software on the computer was a snap. Down loaded first course without any problem. The distances match the ones shown on the course. Very easy to operate. Good battery life - three rounds and still have two bars of three showing. It may not have all the features of the more expensive models but I think it is a great value for the money. It would have been nice if the cart mount was included but I was able to find third party ones for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend it to anyone that just wants to know specific distances.

i was leary about buying the v100 because of the price was too low for what they claim it can do. i couldn't be happier with the gps. it gives front, center, back of green yardages, left, center, right fairway hazards such as bunkers, lakes and creeks. it stores 10 courses on the unit plus 30 courses on the software with the one time membership fee. BUY THE MEMBERSHIP. it costs about as much as other units' annual fee. you get 1,000s of course downlaods(your folder holds 30 at one time). you can also create your own course as you play with quick and easy stand/click entry. also gives shot distance. i don't think it is waterproof but i don't play in the rain anyway. that would be the only downfall of this product. again, i couldn't be happier.

I have had the sonocaddie for 2 weeks and have used it 3 times on 3 different courses. This is compact, very easy to use and as far as I can tell extremely accurate. I'd say it has saved me about 2-3 strokes per round by knowing exactly where the front and back of greens are in relation to my ball. Great Price! I did purchase the lifetime course downloads for [$] because I play everywhere I can. The only negative I have to say is that I was a little disappointed with the lack of hazard markings on the courses that I have downloaded. It appears that just the greens have been cataloged. Leaving you to mark the traps and hazards. Did I mention that it was a bargain? :) Once again great price from Discount Golf!

Due to physician incompetence, I lost one eye some three years ago and have no depth perception at all. This economical option unit provides me everything I need to play golf with the rest of the players, especially when markers are hard to find and, in many cases, inaccurate. Makes my day.

PRO's = product is easy to use, cost is only [$] dollars, you can add hazards- trees- traps- and o/b distances, is accurate, the [$] database fee is one time now (no annual fee), CON's = it's not color, does not show an overview picture of the hole, for some reason = I couldn't add more than one tree in land marks.

This is exactly what a golfer needs. It gives you a couple of hazard markings per hole, it gives you front ,middle, and back of green, and will measure the distance of each shot. Rechargeable battery, and you can load five courses for no charge.
