When I first got this club, I wasn't to sure about it because of the size of the clubhead. I used it for one round and put it back in my bag. I wasn't impressed. I kept pushing the ball way right off my drives. Of course, I thought it was the clubs fault. After about three more rounds of golf I figured out it wasn't the club that was causing the problems, it was me. With this club, I've picked up about 35 more yards on my drives. It is a very forgiving club. My girlfriend tried this driver and liked it so much, she bought herself one. It really is a great club. I purchased this club from Callaway Preowned in "Good" condition and no lie, it looked new. Do yourself a favor and buy this club.

This club is about 10-15 yards shorter than my Ping G5. Sets up nice. No slight draw or fade though....just very straight or major slice or hook.
Callaway preowned is awesome. The very good condition was just like brand new and it came with the $150 javlnFX M7 shaft.....

Very happy

Very straight and long
By Golf fan from San Diego, CA on 8/7/2009
Pros:
Accurate, Great Distance, Large Sweet Spot
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

I usually have a draw with my irons and hit my fairway and rescue woods pretty straight, but I have always tended to slice on my drives. I was using an FT-5 and no matter what I did, I could not get rid of my tendency to slice. After while, I was reluctant to use my driver at all and would drive with my rescue wood.

I thought that I would give the FT-i-draw a try at its current low price and it worked just as advertised. Very straight and as I became comfortable swinging a bit harder, so the distance also improved. I strongly recommend this driver to anyone who struggles with a slice on their drives.

Poor Balance
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I am a casual golfer and but have a smooth swing and generate club head speed in the low 90's. I got the club to improve accuracy but this does not happen. My handicap has gone up 2 points. There is either too much launch with the ball going higher or the ball goes off line both have poor results. The pro/seller told me the club head intimidates me(?). It's not as forgiving as I was led to believe. If hit perfectly it's great but that happens about once or twice a round. I have gone back to my old Big Bertha II for better distance and control.

I use an 8.5 degree in Austin and sent a 9 degree (previously owned) to use when I visit my brother in Washington State. I keep a set of clubs at his house so I don't have to lug them through the airport.

I like a low degree of loft since I hit a naturally high drive and like the more boring trajectory. This added about 20 yards to my drives and made my golfing partner very unhappy.

The FT I isn't quite the FT IQ but for the Used price it can't be beat. It's kept me on more Fairways and give me extra yards off every tee. It won't get me on the pro tour but it's improved my game and boosted my confidence.

I had a FT-3 that I picked up last year as a "starter driver", but had a lot of trouble hitting fairways. The FT-I tour is getting me a little less distance, but I am hitting probably twice as many fairways as I was last year. Thing sounds wicked loud when you hit it right, and you know by the sound if you missed it. I am really enjoying the game with this club.

Developed an odd left to right thing with my drives....thought this might do the trick. Not really. A bad swing is still a bad swing. When I swing right my normal callaway driver works better. When I swing wrong on this drive, just a little less noticeable but still pushed .

I mean really straight.I have lost some distance, but the middle at 260 is way better than 310 in the rough.(or worse)Very loud on impact, the other golfers on the range will know its you hitting.Still, very pleased with my purchase.

This Driver is really easy to hit. Even mis-hits go fairly straight. I play a little cut and reach 300 + when I hit the sweet spot. For 9 degrees it does fly high. I tee it a little lower, like i'm playing into the wind to get maximum distance. I have the 3 squarway wood too. Also a very good club. I drove a 309 yard par 4 with it!!

I tried a controlled test with this FT-i, a Hyper X, and my fitted HiBore. I used three new and identical balls and hit drives with each club. I would mark the results with flags and then reload. I gave each driver three rounds. The FT-i was consistently longer and straighter than both of the others. I normally hit with a fade. I still hit some drives a little right with the FT-i. I now can aim for the center and not down the left side. I will probably see if a different shaft can give me even better results.

Bought this club to replace my r7 425 tp 7.5. Got 8.5 with ozik s flex. Trajectory was lower than my r7 and it was straighter. The distance was maybe lacking a little compared to my other driver, but the straightness made up for it some. It had a better feel than my old club. Still in bag for now. If you are looking for a lower spinning, lower trajectory shot, this is the driver for you.

I can't imagine how a driver could be more accurate. This thing just seems to go straight or slight fade.

Good swings are rewarded handsomely and poor swings are very playable. No more big misses with the FT-i. The 8.5 LCG w/Xcon6 gets a great initial launch then quickly flattens the flight so the ball hits the ground running.

Upgraded to the FT-i from my Great Big Bertha last year. It is by far the easiest driver to hit straight. With some effort, you can bend the ball, but that's not the best use for this driver. This thing instills a lot of confidence off the tee. I thought I would never get used to a square club at address, but I was wrong. This club is great! The only complaint I have is that off the tee, it gets pretty loud.

This driver produces some of the longest rolling tee shots I have ever hit. Drives are long, low and seem to go forever. I regularly hit this club 300 yards, something like 250 on a line and 50 of roll. This driver seems to produce very little sidespin, as most shots are either straight on or off-line depending upon how well I square the club at impact.

I have to mention that this is the worst sounding driver I have ever hit. That won't deter me from keeping it because it performs so well, but there are times when I feel like apologizing to the other golfers on the driving range. God awful!

I guess if that's the worst thing about this club then I can live with it!

The Ozark shaft seems a little stiffer than most, but produces a very nice kick and solid feel. I am very impressed with this shaft, which I play in x-stiff on a 9.5 degree head.

Compared to other Callaway drivers I have used, this one feels the most solid and least likely to balloon in the wind.

I'm an average player, shooting in the high 80's low 90's. I averaged around 260 off the tee with my old wilson deep red driver. Never in the fairway. I have only played one round with these clubs but 7 of my drives were appx 270 and straight down the fairway. Shot an 85 first time out..Couldn't have asked for anything better. Didn't hit the rest of the fairways b/c I started getting cocky and swinging for the fence. I still hit it straight, just only about 100yds down the middle. Couldn't have asked for better results. Can't wait to get out for round 2.

even though the shaft is an inch longer, I don't pull hook the ball as I did with my other driver. I don't get the height as my previous driver (same degree) but I make up on the roll. Eg. I would hit my other driver 275 in air and hardly any roll at all. I hit this driver not as high, but as long in the air, but 30 to 50 on the roll. Just what I was looking for on my home course.

I had used a friend's similar driver and hit it well. This is not the exact club but my experience with this club has not been acceptable. This possibly could be attributed to the hook face but my friend's club had a hook face too. I'm usually a straight hitter and the hook face did not cause smothered duck hooks. Of the 75 drives hit, none were acceptable. Its just not for me.

I used to play a Nike Sasquatch... had some trouble with over drawing (hooking) the ball. This club is great... I can trust my swing and hit fades or draws, but naturally play a small draw. The clubhead inspires confidence at address. The LCG version has a great ballflight, not too high, not too much spin... and plenty long and accurate. I have gained about 5-10 yards and increased FW hit per round. The noise is loud and oil can like, but it doesn't bother me... I actually like a loud driver. I hit a lot of drivers in trying to decide on one (Nike Sumo, Adams XTD A3, Cleveland Launcher, Cobra, TM Tour Burner, etc.) and this one was easily my favorite. Only one came close and it was the Adams... but I just decided to wait for the price on this one to come down, and I'm glad I did.

I've used my Calloway FT-I driver for four rounds of golf now and I am delighted with the improved accruacy of my drives. I have always had a tendency for and suffered with a pronounced slice off the tee. With my new neutral FT-I, I rarely slice the ball and I am hitting many more fairways. Its helping my game and I'm beginning lower my scores. I love it!

I purchased the FT-I Draw because this was the only draw biased club which doesn't have a goofy ofset and a slammed shut club face. Interestingly, my normal set up and swing consistently produces a long high fade. The impact sound is a little loud, but other than that, this club is a keeper.

Unlike a lot of the products I have experienced this driver has lived up to my expectation. It has easily given me 15-20 extra yards off the tee, and has brought my confidence from off the tee box way up. I purchased the draw version and now my miss is a slight fade (usually still in the fairway or just in the rough) and most shots are in the middle of the fairway. My old miss was a slice-100 yards down the fairway and a hundred or so to the left. This is a great club!

I purchased the 9degree ft-i neutral bias with the speeder 586 stiff flex shaft.

For all of those people who have said this driver sacrifices distance for accuracy couldn't be more wrong.

For all of those people who have said that you are unable to shape shots with this driver couldn't be more wrong.

I was actually hesitant about buying this club from some of those naysayers reviews, but I'm glad I followed through with the purchase of the club. I was consistently hitting the ball high and long. I normally carry a drive about 245yrd with my old driver (Cleveland Launcher 330). With this driver I maintain my carry and actually increased it by about 10yrds. What is astonishing though, is that out of a typical 18 holes I would have a major slice on at least 3 drives. This club maintained my distance while eliminating those errant shots.

Sometimes on the hole may require you to shape the shot. With my old club shaping a draw was a near impossibility for me. With this club I can consistently draw the ball about 20 yards when desired. The opposite is true as well for the fade.

Any club that will allow for the forgiveness of a straight shot coupled with the controlled workability is a decent club to me.

Cliffnotes:
1) Drives are more consistent, eliminated errant shots.
2) Hits in the sweet spot are consistently 20yrd further in carry.
3) Miss hits are just as long as old driver, but nearby the fairway.
4) Shots can be shaped either direction.

Final thoughts:
This club may not give you a significant increase in distance on all shots, but the bad shots are not as bad and the good shots are even better.

Well to start I am a gear junkie. I have been wanting this club for a long time after using it at a DEMO days event. The club hits long and straight when I make good contact with it. If you hit it off the toe it goes right, off the heal it goes left, in the sweet spot, STRAIGHT as an arrow. Actually I developed a little bit of a fade instead of draw with this driver. Has a strange sound on impact, like an aluminum softball bat, just different than other titanuim drivers. This replaced my Taylormade R7 superquad and Burner that I had been using. I demo'd a Ping G10 and liked it a lot, but had been wanting this club for a while. Now I need to get better to really use it. I did have a 350 yard drive with carry and roll in the first round I played with it, so I do like it alot. Was going to buy an FT-5, but really wanted this.

I then got the Ft-i Driver and WooooW !!! I have played about 5 rounds and missed the fairways only about 4 times literally. Although, I have a slicing swing, this driver keeps it in the fairway for me. I could not be more pleased or surprised with my performance with this club. I am also hitting this driver from 10 to 30 yards farther. You really need to try it.

This is by far the best driver I have ever owned. I've been playing Callway drivers since the original Big Bertha. The FT-i has helped keep me straight and out of trouble. Not much added distance as some suggest, but consistency I believe is the key to a great game anyway. Ordered the "Like New" and was so surprised as to how NEW it looked when it arrived! I will be buyign from Callway Pre-owned again in the future for sure!
If you're looking for that consistent drive, this is the club for you.

I have longed to find a driver that would help my tee shots, but I have always been too cheap to cough up the big bucks for something like the FT-i. Mind you, I have always desired to own this club, but again, I’m too cheap. On Black Friday I received an email from Callaway Pre-owned stating a sweet deal for the first 300 people on the FT-i. I looked at the like new and that was still a bit out of my price range. I looked at the average and though that I am going to put marks on it anyway, and with the discount, that was in my price range. When it arrived I was more than happy to see the condition of the driver and when I used it….PLEASE! I love this driver. I expect to see my handicap falling with this driver. I am a Ben Hogan owner (thanks Callaway for keeping that brand alive) and I know he would love a club like this one too. Plus it looks great next to my Apex irons.

The FT-i is a truly wonderful club. Now let me start by saying that I have been using this driver for nearly two months. This is not a first time at the driving range review. This is a wonderful club. It is a little loud, but that will only draw attention to your wonderful, long tee shot. This club is not magic bullet, but if you swing correctly (or even close to) you will get one heck of a drive. I would love to sit here and brag about the extra distance I am getting (which is a lot) but you will have to see how it works for you. Buy this club, be patient with it, have long, excellent drives.

I previously owned an FT3 for 3 years. When I bought the club, it was the longest thing out there. But several years had gone by and I wanted to see if there was anything longer out there. I went into my local shop and hit balls on their simulator for about an hour. I narrowed it down to the FT5, Taylor Tour Burner and the new Titleist 909D. All carried about the same, similar dispersion and ball speed. So for comparison, I hit my FT3. Much to my surprise, my 3-year old FT3 went FURTHER. So back to the drawing board. I decided to change tactics and look for the most accurate driver. My thinking was that when I take a big rip, it stays between the houses. It came down to the Sumo2 and the FTi. I'm a long time Callaway guy, so I went with the FTi. The shop fitted me in the 8.5 tour with the stock stiff shaft. First time out it was like a horror show. No matter what tee height I used, I ballooned it like a 5-wood. The following week I went to a Golf Galaxy equipped with a brand new launch monitor. They kept me in an 8.5, but with a Fujikura Speeder 686 shaft. Not very common. But I was lucky enough to find one on the Callaway Pre-owned site at a great price. WOW, what a difference. It is the straightest driver I have ever hit. My best hits go about as far as my FT3's best did, but the FTi is MUCH more consistent. Now I can swing as hard as I want and it NEVER balloons. One added bonus is that contrary to popular belief, you can work the ball. I've even found a shot that I only hit in my dreams....a low cut. My suggestion, find a shop that carries Callaway I-Mix clubs, and has a good launch monitor. This way you can try a wide array of shafts

Club hits the ball nice and high. Perfect combination of club head and shaft. The ball seems to spin less off the club face, meaning straighter misses. FT Tech still doesn't sound quite right, but there is a noticeable improvement in the sound quality at impact of the FTi over my previous FT3.
Shape of the head takes a little getting used to at address.

The best thing about this driver is finding the fairway on off center hits and the draw model does indeed reduce sidespin.

I give it a 10 out of 10.

After talking with several other users I determined to purchase the club with the belief I might lose distance but gain accuracy. I lost distance but failed to gain any accuracy. The loss of feel is significant. Othen the bad shots felt as good as the good shots, very little feedback on where the ball was striking the clubface. Trajectory much lower with this club than with a like lofted other Callaway and competitors products.

I found that the FTi Driver didn't give me any more distance then my 2005 Fusion Driver. In fact I believe I have more control of the Fusion then the FTi. I am 60 years old, 220 lbs, very strong for my age and can consistenly hit the ball over 250 yds. With the Fi I was only able to hit it that far 50% of the time. I had more control and distance with my Fusion.

I was using another older callaway driver and this is definitely a big improvement. I like everything about it and it's easy to hit but you have to work with it to get the most out of it. Once you figure out how to properly hit the sweetspot while not overswinging it goes perfectly. You don't have to have a lot of swing speed to get lot's of distance out of the club! Once you get it; aim the arrow on top and let it go; you can trust the club with no fear and that is amazing. When driving along the creek on the 18th at my local club I have no fear any longer.

Feels very awkward during back swing. Like the Ft-5, r5, and Ping G10 better. But if you hit it good, much farther drive. I was hitting my r5 about 200 years. I hit a few FTi 275 and 295 yards. I can hit it much better and long but just can't get used to the feel of the big square driver. You can hit it longer if you can get used to it.

I have been using Callaway Drivers since the very first Big Bertha.

The first time I took it to the range I was spraying the ball everywhere and was very disappointed. As it turned out, I was overswinging terribly. When I smoothed out my swing the ball absolutely took off. Even though I got the Draw bias, I can still fade or push the the ball. The club is not MAGIC, but any reasonable swing puts the ball out a good 15-20 yards further than my FT-3. Because of what I had read about the ball flying higher with the FT-i, I came down to the 9 degree loft from the 10 degree FT-3 and the trajectories are nearly the same.

I can't wait to take this on my next golf outing.

I have played about 25 rounds now with my driver. I bought the FT-i 9.5 neutral bias at first and it was definitely longer than my old driver but I still sliced a good bit. I then went and sold it and got a 9 degree draw bias to fix some of the slice. This driver is awesome, I have never hit so many in the fairway and the ball goes long. I was hitting my old driver around 225 yds and now I'm hitting about 270 yds. If you have any doubts then quit thinking and go buy one, make sure you get the right bias though because with the neutral bias I thought I had made a mistake but am very content now that I fixed my slice with the draw bias. I believe this is definitely the best choice for high handicappers that hit out of bounds more than most. I get so many questions about the look of the driver on the course but I don't care if it looked like a brick on the end if it hits the way I want it to ,which it does.

After hearing all the buzz, this club was the biggest flop this side of the 'killer whale'. Not only is the price three times what it should be,there are $79.00 drivers out there that are just as good. Don't think just because of some great advertising, that a club must be good, it's actually barely average by my standards.

Let me start by saying that I had used a Titlest 975D (8.5*, steel shaft) for the last 8 years. I had gotten to the point where it was time to upgrade to something I could hit more consistantly. It was a close call between the Ping G10, Cleveland HiBore and the FT-i. After some time in a simulator and a lot of reasearch I opted for the FT-i(9*, Aldia Stiff Shaft).

The ball flight is much higher then my 975D and the sweet spot is larger, mishits are not punishing like the Titlest was. I feel like with this club I know where the ball is going with compared to the Titlest which was much more sensitive to poorer swings. With a proper swing this club will do anything you ask it to. If you get greedy and swing for the fences you will run into problems with the FT-i.

The only problems I have with it are somewhat minor. First, the sound takes some getting used to. My first outting on the range with it I noticed it most but now after nearly a month I don't even notice it. The club isn't as workable as some players may like, I feel this is something that can be done though as I have had some success with drawing and fading the ball. Lastly, with this new technology I was hoping for some more distance gained, I am still in the 260-280 range, which is very similar to my 975D, but still leaves me 10-20 yards behind my usual foursome.

I was hitter a last years model X driver, and I loved it as well. I wanted to try the new square FT-i, just for kicks and because my buddy plays a Cobra. We both hit it about the same distance but with the new FT-i I get him by about 15 yards on almost every hole. It is enough distance to turn and ask him if he has heard about the new Walmart they are building, you know between his ball and mine.

The FT-i is, as advertised, amazingly straight off the tee. Unfortunately, the price for that straightness is a lack of distance - it's probably 20 yards shorter than the Clevelend XLS that I also own. Bottom line, when I have swing problems off the tee, I'll pull out the FT-i to help me get it going straight, but it will never replace my Clevelend.

Even so I'm playing better and when I hit the spot I get the ohh's from the group.

This is the first driver I purchased. The one I had before was an r7 that was given to me. Once I learned a proper driver swing the FT-I was money! It goes exactly where I want it to. If it doesn't its a fault in my swing and I can tell. Has great feedback so I know instantly if I hit it well or not. When I catch it in its sweet spot its 250+ easily. I cant wait to see what it can do when i fine tune my swing and actually put some power into it.

Over the past couple of years I've used the Taylormade R7, Ping G10, Ping Rapture and Nike Sumo2. For some reason, I just feel really comfortable and confident standing over a square driver. I was looking for something to replace the Nike Sumo2. The stock shaft on the Sumo2 is a little harsh. Plus, to upgrade the sound of the Sumo2 is a plus. My friends affectionately refer to it as the "lunchbox on a stick."

The FT-i is everything it's supposed to be. The slightly smaller head doesn't bother me. The stock stiff shaft gives me just the right amount of feel. My swing speed is generally between 97-105. The 9* and stiff shaft setup is perfect for me. I can easily get more or less loft or work the ball with this driver.

This club really gives me confidence to grip it and rip it, too. I've had multiple drives of 310 yards or more. But, when I'm trying to just hit the middle of the fairway, I can still swing confidently and average 275 just about every time. My dad makes me play from the tips just to keep it fair!

This club will be in my bag for a long time.

WOW this club is Awesome!! best driver I've ever hit hands down. Swing smooth and the ball just flies off the face and goes a LONG way off the tee. I used a demo and played the first hole without even a warm up swing and the ball went 300 yards and straight as an arrow with out any effort on my part. Very easy to work the ball, the first draw I tried to hit, i hit a high draw that just seemed to carry for ever, I continued this for all 18 holes and as soon as i finished my round I went into the club house / proshop and bought it on the spot.
I highly recommend this club to anyone with any handicap as it is a very forgiving and LONG club.

Absolutely no regrets and worth every penny. Consistent tempo gets me a strait 280 on the fly every time. Recommendation is to carefully read the shaft charts. The stiff shaft I got performs more like a regular. Make sure what you need is what you order based on the Callaway data from their site.

The huge sweet spot lets you relax (duh!) and that translates into a MUCH better shot time and again. Paid too much, but I am always going for the new stuff....do not need to now!!!

I bought the FT-i to replace my Great Big Bertha. I tried drivers from TM, Nike, Cleveland, Ping, etc, but could not find any driver that had the feel, balance and consistency of the FT-i. I received the club quickly, and it arrived as described. The driver was carefully packaged and came with a brand new "original" headcover (I get picky about stuff like that). I am spraying the ball less, and picked up a couple extra yards to boot. Technology is a great thing!

I have been playing golf for 25 years and have never been confident enought to own and use a Driver off the tee. The FT-i Driver is now the most reliable club in my bag. I hit it with just about the same accuracy as my 7-8 iron. I hit it 310-315-and-320 yards the last time out Straight!
It is a phenominal club and plays as advertised.

I use to play a cheaper version of the FT-5 and wanted to upgrade to the real thing. The price for the Tour FT-i on the pre-owned site was good at [$]. The club looked brand new out of the box. I have added 15-20 yards to my drives with this club. I would love to also try the draw version but the price is prohibitive in that respect.

I purchased the FT-i Tour 9.5 with the upgraded NVS 65 stiff shaft back in April 2008. I've played 5 rounds with it now and can honestly tell you it's very forgiving and easy to hit. I had a quick fitting session and found the stock stiff shaft rated best for my swing. After further research I found a used club on Callaway pre-owned with an upgraded shaft that fit my swing profile. It was a STEAL! I test the Cleveland XLS, Nike Sasquatch Sumo, Ping g10 and Taylor Made Burner. I've never second guessed my decision.
This club has two characteristics I love. First, it's very forgiving. My miss-hits still stay in play and I'm scoring more consistently. Second, the balls rolls forever. I'm not sure if this is related to the 9.5 degree loft or Tour Model design (maybe both). Either way, I longer and playing from the fairway more than ever.

I have always hit a 3 wood off the tee and had good distance and success, but was looking for even more distance. I was somewhat worried because the square head of the FTi seemed large and different. After practicing with this club it is great and accurate. My distance is better than my three wood and it will help me hit more greens. The tour model was best for me because it was not a closed face at address.

To start with, I am not someone who usually writes reviews for products. I was a skeptic of the whole square-driver concept. I was happy with the performance of my FT-3 Tour, but when Callaway Pre-Owned offered the 30 day trial for clubs I couldn't pass up trying the FT-i Tour. I am very glad I took the chance. I have the 9.5 Neutral model. This club is simply amazing! It is straight and long! Two results that all golfers are looking for. I am hitting more fairways than ever and playing shorter irons for my approach shots. This club is almost automatic, just aim and swing, and it goes straight. I admit that I was a skeptic, but I am now a believer in square-driver technology. Do yourself a favor and try one of these clubs.

I have played two 18 hole rounds with my new FT-i 10 degree, draw bias driver and it is fantastic. Straight and long. I have NEVER purchased any one golf item that has improved my game so much without changing anything I am doing. My banana slice was as straight as a string today and right down the middle. Also, 15 to 25 yards longer that with my old driver. There is a high pitched ping sound when you hit the ball, but who cares, the ball is right down the middle, and your golfing buddies eyes are popping out of their head. Is there anything I don't like about this club? Well, the head cover is a little awkward to put on the club. That's it.

It took me many rounds to get use to the feel, sound and size of the FT-i Tour Model. I started thinking that I had made a mistake buying it. I have always had a low-profile headed driver and now I had this monster. However, after about 12 to 15 rounds, I can say that it is by far the best driver I have ever hit. I am hitting more fairways than ever before and am able to draw or fade the ball on command. I also got the distance back that I had lost over the last 15 years and am back driving the ball 270-300 yards consistently. It is an incredible club that I would recommend to any low to mid handicap golfer.

I love this driver. I got mine last week and took it out for the first time on Sunday. I love the feel, the sound and the straight, I say "Straight" drives. Previously with my Cobra I was lucky to hit three of twelve fairways on my home course. On Sunday I hit seven, and three of the others I had clear shots at the green. The secret I found was swing light. When I tried to put some grunt behind it, it tended to start my fade again. Even with an effortless swing, I was 200 off the tee and in the middle. Great club. I love it. FYI, I picked up the 11 degree, neutral bias with a Fujikura 586 Stiff shaft. Do youself a favour!!

This Driver puts the ball exactly where I aim and imagined the shot before I hit it. My first two rounds with the driver, I hit 13 of 14 fairways and 14 of 14 fairways, shot under par both rounds.Amazing technology with the square head. I was averaging maybe 7 or 8 fairways per round from the tee box and struggling. My game is back, and I don't have to call on my chipping as often.Takes the pressure off my short game to create magic after missing fairways.

It will go straight, 200 - 220 yards in 90% of the shots and I can find the ball in the other 10%. I now have the confidence to go and obtain a handicap and I am sure I will not make a full of myself off the tee.

One of several very long shafted drivers out now. I wish I had tried the club at 44 1/2 - but then - the head would have been too light as it was built for an inch longer shaft. So what do you get for your money - very high launch, 5 extra yards maybe. but you need a scope to see the ball at address. Didn't do much for me. About the same result as my 44 1/2" but more work to get it - required a really well timed swing to keep it in play. And in the wind - forget it.

The version I bought has an XS shaft, but it felt quite whippy. Not sure whether it was tip soft for hi launch or the extra length made it play soft - or maybe both. But the whippy shaft with the really long pole combined to make this a timing nightmare.

This club is easy to square at impact. Therefore you can take a healthy rip at it and it is easy to get solid contact with this driver. I find it much easier to locate the club head with it being square rather than traditional round or tear drop shape. It always seems to get to the ball square.
Swing with confindence especially if you are not mathimatical or mechanical about your swing. Allows my whole swing to stay on plane and easy to feel it come from the inside. Geometrically it makes sense to me and helps my visualization of the club path.

I've played a number of Callaway drivers over the years, but this is the most forgiving. It's almost unfair. (ALMOST!)

When I put a good swing on the ball, it's straight with good distance. When I put a poor swing on the ball, it's still in the fairway. I even hit 3 inches behind the tee once, thought I would be in the left woods, and it still managed to get 200 yards out into the fairway.

Once you get over the unusual shape and sound, it's a quick confidence builder.

I've been waiting 40 years for a driver of this amazing playability. My swing has a draw tendency and generally I have to hold off or hold back some to produce straight or slight draws. The FT-I produces straight drives without swing modifications. I am able to draw or fade the shots on command (one just has to more deliberately produce an outside in or inside out swing to "break out" of the usual straight ballflight. I no longer fight draws. Oh yes, it's as long as any driver on the market. In the 50 rounds I've played, it is the same distance as my Taylor Made Burner, r7; Cleveland HiBore XL, Titleist D2, etc. but is 25% better in fairways hit. The square clubhead is great after initial eyesight adjustment. I used to struggle with the lineup of the driver's front edge. This square driver practically lines itself up--the clubhead squares up not just the front face like other drivers. The feel is nice: soft but firm and trajectory is easily accomplished with high or low tee ball position. The sound is not perfect but very acceptable. The new driver's cost is on the higher side but "what's it worth to confidently hit long and straight"?

I've been playing the Callaway FT-I for about three months now and I couldn't be happier. I'm playing regular flex, 10 degree, with a draw set up. I'm 44 yrs old and have never been a long driver but with this club I have increased my average distance about 15 yards. Along with the increase in length, I've also became more accurate off the tee. I'm hitting more fairways then ever. I love this club!

This is a great Driver and really makes up for the occasional bad swing. I can now reproduce my swing with better than average results (10/14 fairways in regulation per round)! If you try this driver you will want it.

I have always been able to hit the ball a long way but i was never quite sure exactly where it was going. The FT-i (9 deg, Neutral)has really helped me straighten out my drives without loosing any distance.
