A fine 2008 saw the Swede finish in the top ten on ten occasions, including a share of third at The Open Championship. Made The European Ryder Cup Team for the second successive time in September and won one and a half points in Valhalla, teaming up with Oliver Wilson for a remarkable comeback to defeat Anthony Kim and Phil Mickelson 2 and 1 in the Saturday morning foursome. Ended 2008 in memorable fashion by partnering Robert Karlsson to a Swedish victory in the Omega Mission Hills World Cup then securing a runaway triumph in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa. Has not been out of the top ten in the Order of Merit for the past four seasons. Won the Dubai Desert Classic in 2007 and three weeks later captured the most significant title of his career to date at the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play, where he beat 2006 US Open winner and defending champion Geoff Ogilvy 2 and 1 in the 36 hole final. Registered his career best finish of fourth on the Order of Merit that year. A proven match play exponent, and was joint top points scorer in the 2005 Seve Trophy with four points out of five in a stunning debut before collecting one and half points from three in his Ryder Cup debut at The K Club. A family friend introduced him to the game and he got down to scratch at the age of 18. Won the 2000 Challenge Tour Rankings with a record of eight top ten finishes that included three wins. Lives in Dubai and is coached by the Dubai-based Pete Cowen.
