The first five piece Tour ball -- Penta TP. The five layers are designed to maximize performance for a variety of club setups: putter/wedge, short iron/wedge, mid-iron, long-iron, driver.

• Cover: soft feel for putters and wedges
• 2nd layer: spin for short irons and wedges
• 3rd layer: control for mid-irons
• 4th layer: launch for long irons
• Core: distance from drivers

Each layer has different compressions characteristics:

• Cover: soft urethane material to promote a high-spin rate, but lower trajectory on wedge shots and pitches for more control
• Outer mantle: the most-easily compressed, fastest layer designed to create optimal spin and flight conditions when ball speeds are below 120 mph
• Middle mantle: semi-firm layer designed to be compressible on shots with a ball speed between 120-140mph
• Inner mantle: designed to create high-launching, low-spinning shots with a ball speed between 140-160mph
• Core: an extremely fast, low-compression layer activated by powerful, fast swings, producing higher ball speeds and less spin on drives for increased distance

The ball took 3 years to develop and is currently being played by several staff professionals on Tour: Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen and Y.E. Yang.
