Nike Lunar Swingtip Leather Golf Shoes Details

Action sports meets golf head on with the introduction of the new Lunar Swingtip Golf Shoe from Nike. A number of Nike’s skateboard athletes play golf--and play it well. Inspired by their request for a shoe with performance-enhancing stability and comfort that they could wear on and off the course, Nike set out to make a shoe to meet those demands in a look that would incorporate some traditional golf shoe design elements. Hence the new Swingtips have a low profile cupsole construction for stability and wingtip detailing for style.

The traction pattern of the outsole was derived from the findings of a pressure mapping study conducted on a variety of Nike athletes. The findings directly influenced the placement and shape of the studs and lugs to maximize traction on demand. The lugs engage with the ground throughout the swing, providing a secure grip with hidden traction. The rubber rim around the bottom of the outsole is weight-activated to create increased stability as the foot moves and changes positions through the golf swing. These shoes feature a full length Nike Lunarlon sock liner that offers superior comfort while providing ground feel and support.
