Cincinnati| The "Bearcat" mascot comes from a chant created for former Cincinnati standout football player Teddy Baehr. A Cincinnati cheerleader created the cheer from a hard fought football game between Cincinnati and the University of Kentucky. The cheer "They might be wildcats but we have a Baehr-cat" inspired the crowd to chant, "Come on Baehr-cat." The mascot eventually evolved into the "Bearcat," Cincinnati uses today. | |
