Central Florida

The birth of the Knight mascot of the University of Central Florida stemmed from a vote in December of 1970. Voters choose the Knights of Pegasus and combined the mascot with the University Seal which features the Greek mythological horse Pegasus. The mascot was changed to the "Golden Knights" in 1993.
