Bon:

Usually the concern is TOO LITTLE spin off irons and wedges. That being said, the goal is to match spin to the shot. These golf balls allow for greater control because they're designed to maximize friction with the clubface, regardless of groove design.

But keep in mind that aggressive grooves produce greater spin and also less ball-sliding (up the face), which is one of the main reasons why the USGA/R&A have mandated groove changes. Without knowing your playing style, ability, club condition and dozens of other factors, I can't say if you'll get too much or not enough spin -- that's really determined only at the point of impact.

Having the right tools is crucial to being a good player and a must for getting better. A lot of balls have focused on distance and neglected feel and control. Not so with these Wilson balls, and for good reason: only one shot on every hole is for long distance, the others require greater accuracy and more control.

Will the ball spin too much off my Bridgestone J36 CB, which doesn't have V-grooves?
